The name of the church is Bible Christian Life Church.

They are based in Lomé in Togo. Togo is in sub Saharan Africa. Climate change is causing the Sahara to extend further south which makes it harder to grow food for themselves. Togo is a former French colony now run by a second generation dictator. There are many Muslims in Togo who resist Christian churches being established. Benoit also works in surrounding villages establishing cell groups.

Malaria is a significant challenge in Togo and Benoit is often ill with it.

Summary of 2024 Ministry Report – Frank Shayi

Frank reports on his ministry activities in 2024, beginning with Langham Preaching (LP). He introduced LP in Namibia, re-energized the movement in Zambia and Zimbabwe, and visited Madagascar with other LP Africa leaders in March. They were encouraged by the response and hope to return to train Scripture Union (SU) staff in expository preaching. He also facilitated seminars in Limpopo (South Africa), Lesotho, and Botswana, with a return trip to Botswana planned soon. A leadership meeting for LP Africa is scheduled in Lesotho later this month.

At Calvary EBC, Frank continues to pastor the church without a stipend, supported by the church’s contributions for travel. He hopes to train a younger successor due to age (he is 76). A highlight this year was welcoming 11 new members after running a membership course. He also spoke at the denomination’s Winter School in Eswatini on how the Church should respond to the LGBTQI+ community, and a statement on this topic may be adopted at the Annual Conference in December.
